I would love it. I just looked at my join date and realized that I've been here for quite awhile, I would love an oldtimers area.

The 18 or 21+ age limit would be fine with me too, but there should be exceptions for certain excellent members (corbin).

To address a few things:

-At iPodlounge it did not take away from the regular forum, just gave a place for those that the regular forum does not appeal to as much anymore somewhere to hang out, and in turn check out the other forum, without moving on to somewhere else whether it be with this hobby or another

-It strengthened the community in that old members hung around and new members had a reason to watch their behaviour; if they wanted in.

-It is not about hording info. but a place to discuss things, that as mentioned above, I do not want to haunt me when I am running for Senator.

-I do not know how to multi-quote

-Whether there already was one crossed my mind, but as pointed out, people will know, and forget about it in a hurry. It is the member's responsibility to treat it in a manner that does not unduly exclude others but a place for more mature discussion. I think the analogy to a Graduate Student's Lounge is effective as it says if you keep working hard and studying, there is no reason you can not be there in a while, and if it not your cup of tea and want to get Ds and coast through undergrad, fine. But I want a place to discuss things further than Econ 101 without you talking about demand curves...get the idea?

-I think forum instead of chatroom would be effective. Just cause. There is a reason we are here instead of MSN, I am here as I can come on for an hour and have a days worth of conversation with people that were on another hour.

-Corbin...the Snug is a place where we could have a great debate on whether or not this is true without BS.

-Poly, I can not recall if it was pre or post snug over there, but I started a thread on whether or not the site's growth will be its demise...similar ideas/problems you brought up that the Snug addressed. It may be about keeping an important part of the community in some capacity instead of losing it all together.

-Sycamore...I don't get what I think is a joke, not enough time in supertrash, too much time trying to help other posters in the general forums ....

-The argument about taking away from other parts of the forum, I do not think this is so, as it is just one more forum to check out. The turnover on iLounge was actually painfully slow.

-Ayn, you not knowing about it over there I think shows that it would not be a shitstorm that never blows over. It started there just like this in public, then the topic ended and the snug started.

-Natural...It would not be (in my vision) SF without the crap, it would be a place to go to get reprieve from the crap and post things that you do not want 100% public. BUT...crap would be cut down as posters may or may not know that they are "auditioning" for the snug.

-Thorns, this is exactly what they did at iLounge

-Kasper, exactly. This is not taking away from the other forums but adding something to the community as a whole.

If you think about it, there are already little private chats/forums people here have already established. It just mainly lies in who you guys talk to and choose to network with. The more regularly you start talking to people here on AIM, Skype, PM's whatever, you establish a relationship with them and the longer you do this for you just share information w/ the select few and no one else. Then if you do release information little by little people will want to be apart of the circle jerk you are having with the select few you choose to network with. It will cause a civil war.

EDIE: Even if a superSNUG happens somehow, someone will leak information on it and it won't be such a supersecret anymore.

I don't think it's about being supersecret. It's mainly for grown-up conversation uninterrupted by questions about how long you soak you apc's or posters calling every discussion a circle jerk.

i could not agree with you anymore...to be perfectly honest, my "ignore list" is like 50 members long and growing by the day....and the only posts i really sit and read are ones from forum members I know....I don't want to be the armchair grandfather in this case, but i really can't remember a time when this board was so filled with idiocracy, be it denim/clothes related or just supertrash related....not to say supertrash isn't the place for it, but like cult said about Bed's homophobic thread or even look at the "Let's go post on everyone else's message board thread"....

Bed's chris thread was all his idea. I just happened to have pictures that I shrunk but I had no involvement in that what so ever, he just credited me for the pictures. What effect will this have on lurkers? I have been reading this forum for quite a long time and though I may not have ingratiated myself into the community or help build it up, I still do feel like I have some stake in superfuture. I've always felt better just sitting back and reading and learning, and I'm not sure if it's fair that lurkers may be excluded just because we don't have much occassion to post.
