Johnbull Sewing Chop SC003

I'm looking to get into raw denim, and I'm looking at BiG and I see that these look like a good jean to start off. Nice, Japanese denim, and i'm looking for a pretty slim cut, something like a Levis 514 or a Nudie Thinn Finn, do you think these would be it? Also, if I purchased these, would I have to soak them one more time to get the measurements I want, because they say one wash already.

These look like they will shrink to tag size, so if you wear a 30, buy a 30. A long soak and trip in the dryer will get a lot of the shrinkage out of the way, and you won't lose much indigo. Look in the encyclopaedia for more info on this.

I normally wear a size 32, but got size 30 in the sc002 and after a 2 hour long hot soak, the waist did not really shrink much at all. Then again, I did put them on and chill in the tub for a bit to make sure they wouldn't shrink. Let them drip dry overnight. They shrunk a little bit all over except the waist really.

That being said, Johnbull makes great jeans, you'll love them. Been wearing my 002's for about 4 months now and have to say they are one of my favourites.
