SARU is the name of a fictional street gang in a manga called Tokyo Tribe. The manga is drawn by an artist named Santa Inoue and it originally started off as a monthly add-in for Japanese fashion magazine Boon. After the manga became popular, Santa started an entertainment company called Santastic Entertainment and added action figures, clothing, etc to his Tokyo Tribe brand. Santastic! Wear is the name of the clothing brand and it regularly puts out t-shirts with the SARU street gang name just like the shirts worn by the characters in his manga.

Probably never, and I find them quite funny so I don't believe they'll go away. Besides, the only way to get past periods is accepting them, and such a japanese japler is funny
