American companies with a repro bent: how many are there?

The "how much is Superfuture influencing the Japanese denim industry question got me to wondering how many American companies are making "repro" style jeans, or at least jeans with that repro inspired aesthetic. Kicking Mule Workshop, certainly, Then there is Spurr (not really repro, but repro inspired, and claims classic roots), Stronghold, 5EP, which doesn't really do repros, but combines classic Wrangler and Levis elements, Jean Shop, which has a vintage feel, but which does not do straight up repros in the manner of say SugarCane, which is American made as well There must be more out there. Of all these companies, only Spurr uses American loomed denim, AFAIK. Any others? Anyone? Does a company like Farmer count? I mean, in addition to all of the brands out of LA that people on this board seem to hate, there are plenty of brands out of LA that take inspiration from the loads of vintage shop denim and flea market finds there...

Whoops. Of course, there are always the original companies, and most still produce honest-to-goodness rodeo jeans with 17 ounce denim (official weight for rodeos, iirc. But LVC is the only "repro company", i.e. doing high grade reproductions for the denimhead market.

Here, here. But, RRL does make nice product with a repro influence. Not straight repro though. And maybe with too much of a western style.

Um, aren't, weren't jeans pretty standard cowboy fare? Saying "maybe with too much of a western style", unless I've misunderstood you and you mean "European" when you say "Western" is a little wierd, imo.

LA----wrangler "Blue Bell" is doing high-grade repros, but for the EURO market.

and i read something about LEE Authentics (i may have the "line" name wrong) doing the same, but it seems impossible to find through my half-assed search and foggy brain.

No, you got the name right. I think that Denim Bar is carrying that line.

Yeah, I guess you're correct. But jeans started out as utility work wear in general. I guess what I mean is that "cowboy style" is used as their jump off point. When I say western, coming from the US, I mean more like cowboy movies. Because cowboy movies here are called "western" films. Sorry for the confusion.

LA Guy...this is funny cause I read your post on Saturday and was pissed cause I left this link on my computer at work. I was bored last week looking at stuff on rakuten, and found Post Overalls...which according to the website are made in NYC and only sold in Japan, I would assume some small old garment company got bought out by a Japanese company and now only make clothes for that market, with the Made in USA tag? They consist of old American work clothes and some are made with Cone denim and other pieces are made with Japanese denim. They aren't the '47 cuts that most repos are, but older (carhartt) style, some canvas, and herringbone! wouldnt mind having a pair of those. only come in small, med and large.

I've actually bought directly from Post Overalls and Katsu (the owner), exactly because they don't have a US outlet. I think he was surprised that there was interest here; maybe if enough people get in touch with him, he'll look to have resellers in the US.

They are almost TOO authentic, if that makes sense, but I do like their stuff a lot. I would buy more if I had any sort of budget. The only item I have from them is the Japanese blue chambray 1201.

How does it fit? And did you just contact them through the website?
