How to Wash backpacks?

Sauce

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a nylon backpack (burton) and it's pretty light in color (lime green) and i've used it for a while now, meanwhile, it has picked up a lot of dirt. What is the best way to wash the entire backpack?

Should I drop it off and dry clean it? Or should I spot clean?

I just washed my old black eastpack yesterday because it was full of dust and always had a strange smell that I could not stand anymore.

I thrown it in the bathtub, handwashed with tepid water and a bit of woolite black, rinsed, came out perfect without any color bleeding...

The best results I've gotten were when I just brought it in the shower with me and scrubbed it as necessary. Backpacks are just so floppy and hard to wash without getting yourself soaked in a sink that it's easiest to just give in and agree to get wet doing the job. I like liquid dish soap (dawn is my fave) and a brush to really get it clean.
