i havent posted any tourbillons (or double tourbillons) in a while so here we go again

if you're asking for the price, you're probably not the target audience :(

Have you seen any videos of the jaeger gyrotourbillon or seen the actual thing in action? its too rad, i think you would appreciate it

tourbillon are amazing to watch. i've tried the regular jl "cheap" tourbillon, it was already very impressive. but tourbillon aren't reliable enough.

agreed. it's like among the last watch to buy just to make your collection complete. i tried a lange & sohn at a watchforum reunion a couple of years ago, i felt so powerful at this moment !!

i would love to even see a philip dufour or a moser. pure watch porn.

breguets are usually reliable, but complicated complications are usually subject to unreliability. when you have to get your watch serviced every 3 months you'd rather buy something less annoying.

some watch porn (dufour simplicity)

the dufour simplicity is absolutely gorgeous, and the attention to detail is breathtaking. i think it looks best in white gold with an enamel dial. absolutely stunning. what goes on inside is beautiful, but what really makes it for me is the face and the lettering. it really is a watch to wear, not to keep in a safe.

what i like so much about tourbillons is that they're the pinnacle of craftsmanship when it comes to watchmaking. it's not necessarily the quality or the aesthetic, but rather the fact that somebody made it.

then you probably like the "tour de l'ile" by vc

agreed on the tourbillon. sometimes the watch they put it in it aren't that nice. but the performance of making this work and all the work needed...

in another hand, when i see a tourbillon jacob & co (or another producer of oversized blingbling watches) it makes me puke.

never been a huge fan of Tag. I prefer the old Heuer chrono and carrera.

tho my bro has a simple carrera and an old school monaco, and they look cool.

i've only had problems with tags. the carrera's okay looking, but something about them turns be off - a mix between trying too hard and being boring at the same time (if that's possible). plus, there are much more attractive models of the carrera than that one.

Personally it's my favorite, considering getting it.

What kind of problems have you had?

the iwc is the nicest out of the bunch so get that and the rolex

never really liked the style/shape of panerai

agreed on the panerai.

8k won't get him the iwc and the SD though, will it? i'd go with the IWC

you've got a sub already, the sub is basically exactly the same as the SD, except without the date magnifier. doesn't make sense to get it. maybe the DSSD. then it would be a tougher decision. but still imo the IWC.

get the iwc. classic timepiece you probably will never regreat, reliable as fuck german movement, ultra classy yet sporty.

you'e got a sub, why get a sea dweller ?

and panerai are sooooo overrated. every douche has one, to show he's "in". and the bullshit history background and all their marketing stuff. i will never wear a panéraillleee (how you're supposed to pronounce it).

lol @ the watches that need servicing every 3 months. I live in a nearly third world country, have a dog that literally eats or shits my time away, have a girlfriend who is more moody than the dog, am trying to buy a car that will probably realistically need the servicing every 3 months, and I have stuff to do, and I don't even have a job. I can't imagine having a watch like that.

I do need a watch though, so I am looking at buying a simple Air-King...

demonito, do it and get a used Tudor Tiger Hydronaut women edition for the wife. This watch is so cute if i had money i'd buy one to my little sis haha.

i find the sea dweller and even worse the dssd so useless... unless you are a robot and can dive in the deepest oceans of the world. but the performance is remarquable tho.

i wanted to get a new watch, because i have a seiko diver since feb 06, but i want something as sturdy and more reliable, with sort of the same look. so i'll wait until i can afford a submariner (not the new ones) and wear it until i die and my child will have it.

but i'll get a moser, lange, breguet or dufour for when i need to wear a suit, liking functionality doesn't mean you can't like the timeless elite of watches.
