Still - if they are Alden then they are most likely shell cordovan. They look like my shells (below).

HH - I did order White's Semi-Dress, and they're still 3 1/2 weeks away, I called a few days ago. Made to order for my foot, great price!

Do you apply your polish with a damp cotton hankerchief stretched over your fingers? Use very light coats on the hankerchief. Rub it first on the non-brogued part of the leather, then once the polish is thinner on your fingers, move to the brogued areas. If you notice any polish caught in the holes, brush or dab at it with a brush before you do anything else.

If there's good sunlight this weekend, I'll take a pic of my Indies now polished and more glossy. They are coming along pretty well.

Sage advice. Ultimately Miza it depends on how finicky you are, I am stuck between being overfinicky and lazy so my brogued shoes are usually mostly spotless in the brogueing :D (emphasis on mostly)

for cleaning out broguing or perforations i have a completely dry horsehair brush which I reserve just for this purpose. It can be a smaller one if you want to save a couple bucks, just make sure it never touches polish. Before I polish I clean out all the holes, its amazing how much dirt falls out.

I used to try to use q-tips but I think it just pushed the dirt in more...

My results have been mixed with both the brush and the q-tips unfortunately. And I have several shoes with brogueing ior medallions so...

What do you guys think of brown Conistons? Should I got for it? (stock photos, I'm not crazy about the foreshortened angle):

GO for it! You know you need one for summer. I don't have to remind you how comfortable they are. My pair of Conistons now lives on my feet and the style is timeless.
