Really? Well in this thread alone there is tons of pictures/recommendations:

http://superfuture.com/city/supertalk/index.cfm?page=topic&topicID=2013&start=1

If you are still not satisfied, I would narrow down what it is you are looking for so people can help. It is like asking "what is there to do in Japan?" there is just too much info....

What price range are you looking at?

What styles do you want? Military? Divers? Plastic? Metal?

I am not really following the description you gave.........

Right now, Panerai is the "hot" watch to get. Oversized clunky 44mm watch with a history of being made for Italian navy divers. Most authorized dealers will have only one or two pieces available and they are usually they are models that no one wants (from what I've seen in Bangkok, HK and Singapore). Even in DC, the AD's out in Fairfax didn't have much either.

While I would argue that they are overpriced with very, very basic movements, there is a certain appeal about them. Right now I'm looking for PAM 25 and PAM 199, titanium and limited edition Submersibles. The best place to find the exact model you want is to get into the network of secondary market dealers operating out of HK, Singapore, US and Europe. Funny thing, as they all seem to know of each other.

Check out: www.panerai.com

Rolex still makes the classic sport watch. Great quality of all parts and 100% in-house movement. It's crazy that Rolex can churn out a million watches a year (other brands like IWC, Panerai, Bell and Ross, make around 30,000-50,000 each year) and still maintain the high level of quality and service. Submariner with Green bezel looks great. I usually wear a white dial Explorer II most days.

For the an amazing sport watch, check out any of the Royal Oak Offshores by Audemars Piguet especially the limited edition Pablo Montoyas. all around 46mm. Their prices went up again in January to around $18K, but you can find they at some authorized dealers for around $10K. Drool...

Good luck!

I was going to mention Tokyoflash, a few of my friends have watches from there, and I'm getting one from TF after my May/June exams.

Nice watch...

Panerai is getting more mainstream as everyone seems to be sporting them these days...In Thailand, it's the only watch that requires you need to get on a 3-4 month waiting list.

It's amazing that the combination of careful marketing and supply constriction will do for Panerai. While the conventional wisdom among Watch Idiot Savants is that Panerai is just a fad, I think they are here to stay. They have their own 8-day proprietary movement coming out. Plus, they are one of the few watch companies with such frenzied collectors that talk about their multiple straps as much as they talk about their watches i.e., distressed calfskin Dirks, pre-vendome buckles, pre-vendome straps, sharkskin straps, etc.

There's something about Panerai and their collector base thats more distinct than the young bankers with their uniform black Rolex Subs and GMTs or the old blue bloods quietly sporting Vacherons and Pateks. You can't miss a 44mm watch on a 26mm leather strap. It's a perfect weekend beater watch that perfectly complements a pair of jeans and t-shirt.
