Yeah for the most part. I first sew the edges of the hole to clean it up without the patch and then i do another pass to sew the patch on around the hole. Then i just finish it up with a design to sew down the rest of it. I’m working on cleaning up the backside but generally this is enough to have the repair stay on with repeated wear and wash6 points

Sober here too! Going on 2.5 years now! Mad respect for anyone else taking that plunge. As above, I never considered myself to be a problematic drinker, though some of those close to me were, and I could see myself going that way. It also brought me nothing positive when I looked at it objectively and with young children around I did not need the hangovers and associated physical and psychological symptoms. I've occasionally tasted the odd bit, but am always overwhelmed at booze just tasting like, well, booze. It's fairly disgusting. I have a really great alcohol free beer shop near to me that keeps me stocked up on unnecessary expensive drinks for now.5 points

How bad was it Edwin? If I may ask. For me it’s 3 yrs now could be 4 to. My drinking wasn’t bad, a few beers in my weekends. But I was just done with it, it didn’t bring me anything. So might as well don’t do it4 points

I was never much of a drinker - seeing that in your extended family growing up can do that to a person, coupled with either being blessed or cursed with low tolerance. (I consider it a blessing) But we've got a lot of NA options now too which is great for some people I know, and myself, honestly, as I'll choose NA probably 60-70% of the time. But yea, the price of those things is bananas! Still, I'm glad to see more options that really do make the social occasions easier for so many. Coffee, now I have a more contentious relationship with that drug.3 points

Few shots of the 220XX-54. Pardon the mud splashes had just got back from a dog walk on these! These fit great, there's something about this fabric that I love too. It's nothing above and beyond what Warehouse usually roll out, but there's a character to it that just sits right. It's less rough and textured than the WH banner denim, and it's thicker than dead stock blue which I find to be a touch toooo thin. I'll take some pics laid flat and alongside the worn in 47's for comparison at some point soon.3 points

Just wanted to drop a note here to say my 220XX-54 finally arrived back, hemmed, on Christmas Eve. What a touching way to end a hilarious saga 😀 Ive learnt my lesson. I love the jeans though and I’m glad i pushed on stubbornly. I’ll post some pics and details soon. Too full of cake and cheese at the minute. They are featured over on waywt but not very clearly!3 points

Today's adventures took us to the Romney marsh sound mirrors. These big and rather beautiful concrete structures were built in the inter-war years along the south coast. They were designed to act as an early warning system for approaching aircraft but were effectively made redundant by the introduction of Radar. The area is now a nature reserve. You can only get right up close to them on certain days. This wasn't one of those days 😀 Next up, a bit Further along the coast to Dungeness which is a strangely bleak place. There seem to be quite a few artists in residence living in various shacks. Many other dwellings look to be airb&b's Derek Jarman famously lived there.3 points

Hi all, just wanted to take a minute to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, most of all good health! These days people don't spend much time or thought on some personal words to their friends and family, they just copy and paste some random message and send it on. So after all we've been though together this year I want to thank you for your friendship and wish you a happy and fulfilling 2018 - you’re the best knitting forum anyone could ask for. Best wishes, Linda xxx2 points

First one of these, forgive the absolute mess and dirty mirror, been a hectic time getting ready for the holidays! Sweatshirt - Freewheelers / Power Wear Jeans - Oni Curious on thoughts about the length of the sweatshirt (Ik vintage style should be shorter and like the vibe overall). I know the jeans I'm wearing don't have a super high rise, so that can affect things.2 points

Waiting for the “generous” one hour early release from work on Xmas eve. Only 6.5 hours to go! On to the important stuff. These are the Warehouse 1001xx Aizumi Festival jeans that ace mod and all around good guy, @Broark, sold me last month. Details on the denim are scarce, but they have the Duck Digger arcs, an offset back belt loop, and are neppier than the Banner Denim. I’m stoked that Austin was willing to part with them.1 point

I moved away from London recently. Wife and I cashed in, jacked in our jobs and moved down to the Kent coast. The kids joined us today for xmas so we gave them a short walking tour. We're near a lot of military land. This is one of their shooting ranges. It's in pretty regular use but I've not heard any shots fired for the last few days We have a miniature steam train that starts near us l, runs for about 13 miles and ends in a place called Dungeness which is unofficially Britains only desert and is beautifully bleak and desolate. It's shadowed by a nuclear power station that is being dismantled (we're heading there tomorrow so will take some pics). We get to hear the whistle and see the steam from our house which is lovely to hear and see. We find it much more exciting than our kids do.1 point

'Free' Stuff! I also have lots of stuff I'd like to get rid of in return for a charity donation of your choosing (+ shipping) to the Kern County Animal Shelter - its my closest shelter and unfortunately a vital resource as there's a lot of people in Kern County on or below the poverty line who are unable to afford to get dogs neutered which leads to a crippling stray problem in Bakersfield and the rest of unincorporated Kern County - where I live. Here's a link to some poorly lit photos of everything. All jeans hemmed to 29"-ish. If there's an item you're genuinely interested in, message me and I can take measurements. Unless dry-clean only (Jelado/Post O'Alls) or a jacket, everything will be laundered and lint rolled before being sent out. Rough description to match photos in chronological order with label size - if not listed, it’s gone: Monitaly Sample Jacket - 40 - Large - No buttons on sleeve cuffs Beams vest - Medium Monitaly Chore-ish Jacket - 40 - Large Pherrows Lot 500 - 34" Warehouse Duck Digger DD-1001XX 1946 - 36" Burgus Plus Lot 928 - 36" Stevenson Overall Co Lot 340 - 32"1 point

@youngofthesoonest I’ve been eyeing the hardenco jeans program for my kids. Where as they grow out of a size you send them back and get the next size up. All are pre worn and handed down. But love anything that supports keeping garments alive over fast fashion1 point

My kid keeps destroying pants. I’ll have to sew in double knees at some point. Some 80s Levi’s with some serious leg twist, nippers that prob shouldn’t be worn much anymore, wranglers and some modern carhartt that didn’t hold up nearly as well as the other pants. I used some flat head and roy denim scraps as well as some canvas and flannel fabric swatches from Seuvas.1 point
