Eat at the Carnival - wicked food.

But remember, it gets super super crowded - something like a million people in a pretty small area, so plan where you wanna go with plenty of time in hand.

Grab the Time Out for listings and their Carnival Guide.

Shopping - do a search on this site - their are loads of suggestions floating about (and they have all been made pretty recently).

As for parties, this could be ok - on Friday, and 93 is a nice club:

Red Alert

@ 93 Feet East, 150 Brick Lane, London E1 6QN

Friday 26th August 2005. Tax: Free B4 9pm, £5 until 10pm, £6 after.

First Rate

(Scenario/Scratch Pervs/Morecheeba)

Pest

(Ninja Tune)

+ Red Alert Sound System

+VERY Special guests

This month’s special guest is none other than turntablists supreme First Rate; ex-Scratch pervert, world DMC champion and Morecheeba DJ. Something of a regular at Red Alert over the years, this is a man who knows how to rock a party, and his mind-blowing skills on the ones-and-twos are sure to keep the dancefloor moving. Oh, and be sure to watch out for his fresh new album “Walky Talkyz†on Scenario Records, featuring the likes of Skinnyman, Blade, and Killa Kela….

two surprise special guest kick things off LIVE in the main room, and Pest main-man Pasta will be contributing a blend of hip hop and > breaks.

As always, Rob Red Alert & Harley Harl keep the back-room party swinging, dropping their trademark mix of hip hop, funk, soul, reggae, electro, house, breakbeat and anything in between. Bring your dancing shoes and prepare to party!

around the carnival?

Try Number 10 in Goldborne Road (a flash pub really with members bar upstairs), Blagclub, or E&O in Notting Hill - supposed to be good.

check out london-eating.co.uk, they will have a good list (you can search by location)
