Are the 5507xx raw or one rinse? I can't really tell from the information on the fabfour online shop. The translated version seems to say that they are one rinse, but the size chart leads me to believe that they are raw.

I'm also curious to hear more opinions on Skull jeans, specifically a comparison between them and some of the other major Japanese brands.

for some reason the skull theme annoys me. that can be overlooked though. lets get a review from a skull jeans owner?

I sort of agree with you about the skull theme, BUT they seem like nice jeans for a good price. You would almost never see the patch and the skulls on the red tab so I too can overlook them.

I do wonder how Skull jeans stack up to The Flat Head because the TFH 3001 seems to be a similar cut to the 5507 for a similar price. I've heard some good things about TFH, but very little about Skull.

Old Viking Ring--the 5010s are too skinny for my legs, but thanks for the heads up.

yeah, they are too small for me in all dimensions. I should have got a 32. They are very well made and while they are still in my possession, I can answer any questions you guys want to ask.

These are like the slim jims most people wished slim jims were; good quality selvedge, button fly and no arcuate. I think the skull touches are pretty neat, and the patch is pretty well faded from the factory one wash and will only continue to fade.

construction looks strong, all the rivets are branded and the stitching is pretty nice, traditional two size thread stitching.

inseams are not hand felled but are unobtrusive and are double chain stitched along with the hems and waist.

pocket bags are simple cotton and the patch is real leather.

These are pretty much on par with my Sugarcane '47's, structurally.
