CREEPers (and other things with thick soles)

red wing postal oxfords are really boring looking,

i'm confused why so many 'heritage-style' shops chose to stock them

these are the same kind of generic uniform shoes you can find in certain surplus stores

there are tons of other creeper-styled shoes with way more character than those RW

let's not discuss RW anymore in this thread ok?

If one decides to have a wedge sole put on by a cobbler on a pair of boots i.e. timbs, what kind of leather (smooth or suede), shoe profile (rounded or more oval), lace system (6, 8, 12 eyelet) be best ?

At this point I may consider just doing that but any ideas?

these timbs sort of have the wedge but i think it needs to be a bit thicker?

read it somewhere that you can get viberg for under $500 if you buy em in store. is that true?

sometimes. i got two pairs for $135 and $175 bc they were on commission from the viberg workshop(bought at cost when i worked for a store that stocks viberg), and they have a few used pairs for under $200 at the workshop(usually work boots, not fashion-y ones.)

if you want what you want, try to order them directly. if you want whatever you can get for cheap, call the workshop and ask if they have any stuff sitting around the backroom/used boots.

good luck!
