yo, thinking of picking up a graphics tablet. i'm in architecture so not an illustrator or anything, but would like a little more control over some line drawings i create in AI.

i know wacom has a good name, so was just going to pick up one of the entry level models. perhaps the bamboo pen. i've never actually used a tablet before, so will this satisfy my needs? can't think of a reason i'll need a 'touch' model, provided i get good pen sensitivity on the aforementioned model. though the active area is kind of small? (5.8" x 3.6") - i'll be working primarily from a 17" macbook.

any tips appreciated!

yo, I have a bamboo jawn and I use it whenever I fuck with illy/ps. I love it, bit I've not used a higher end model to compare.

it's got a few buttons you can set to do diff shit too.

just noticed the pressure sensitivity on the 'pen & touch' model is twice that of the 'pen' model which might be the sealer.

excuse the noob q, but when using a tablet does one just switch between the pen for drawing and mouse for interface? Just trying to wrap my head about how the pen & touch model may work. not a huge fan of touch pads..

when I'm using my wacom I just use it for all mouse shit too, it's pretty comfortable for me atleast.
