I am starting up a small label, and I wanted to know if any of you guys know a good place to get tagless shirts or if anyone knows a place that makes custom tags (the ones at the back of the neck)... I dont really knwo where to find a place that does it; every t-shirt printing company I've called only does hanes heavyweight or that type of stuff.... thanks for your help!

btw, I am in Boston, so anything within the states would be of better use to me!

thanks again

they wont physically make the actual shirt tags for you, but if you get em made they can sew em into the shirts before they are assembled (doesnt have that pulled off, re-stitched look in the back of the collar). AAA is the best IMO as far as cut and quality goes for standard printed shirts.

you need a federal tax ID and all that good stuff to order wholesale direct from them however. and of course there are minimums you need to order.

as much as i love aa shirts, i dont think thats the kind of shirt I want to start printing on right off the bat... aa has great fitted tee's but I want to market towards a larger audience-- not only people who can pull of the fitteds. As for t shirt tags-- does anyone know what kind of place makes them? Thanks again.

Im not sure exactly what you're doing with this op, but I have two suggestions for you:

1) Use American Apparel and AAA shirts. You can call them "Slim" and "Classic", just finding matching colours could be an issue. This shouldn't cost much more, if any if you are ordering a relativley large enough quantity.

2) Rather than tags, order your shirts tagless and silkscreen your own "labels" in. You can maker the shirts as "tagless" which is a good selling point. I don't know how much custom labels cost, but this shouldn't be too much if you are doing enough shirts. Just have to pay for the screens and you will need one for each size. (or two for each size if you do the "classic" and "slim" idea.

I ordered 1000 tags (the minimum at the place I got them) for about $150 and I just sew them onto the end of the sleev of the tee/sweat/hood. It's ghetto, but if you are doing runs of 25-50 shirts (mixed sizes) in each design you probably don't have the money to get custom necktags for your tees. If you do have the money, most screenprinters should be able to hook you up.
