Taking in Levis 646

I was considering getting a pair of LVC 646 and having the flare portion taken in about an inch or two around the ankle area. Does anyone know if this is possible without making them look weird or ruining them? Anyone have any experience with this? Any help is appreciated.

I had a pair of the premium bootcuts and I basically made them straight-legged from the knee down. The cut was fine, but if you have any honeycombing going on behind the knees, it will look a bit off until you wear them a bit more and reestablish them. If you do it from the inside seam (so as to preserve the selvedge) sometimes you can make the outside seam twist around to the front if you're not totally careful.

if you're not that confident in your seamstress (seemster?) skills, taylors don't charge that much to alter pants. Just be really specific about how and what you want done.
