Vintage levis authentication

I recently found this pair and was looking for some opinions on its authenticity. Everything from my limited experience suggests that these are original 1950's Levis. For something this old, the denim is in extremely good condition so I have some reservations. All comments are appreciated!!

if they are authentic (calling PaulT!) i would say they are early 50's indeed, judging by the tab, rivets and beltloops

strange are the position of the belt loops which are typically for orange tab levis, also normaly 501s only got 5 loops instead of 7 like these here show...

i think these are like a 38" waist, by the looks of it.. that would explain your point

good find they look legit to me but im just me and i dont know shit haha. yeah what size are those? and yes many belt loops.

single-sided tab dates them to 1947-1951. good find!

I agree ^^ central back belt loop dates them to pre '52 shame the leather patch is missing otherwise excellent $$$$$$$$

The actual inseam measures 33 inches from crotch seam to the hem. We are waiting to hear back from Lynn Downey at Levis about these. We sell denim on ebay full-time and it would make a nice anecdote to add to the listing. Thanks again for the feedback!

what are they worth in this condition and what would they be worth with the leather patch?

It's a hard one because they're an undesirable size/shape. In a wearable size, with attractive fading and the patch, they go for $5k up.

Bidding on eBay seems to be very poor at the moment, too. With a good listing and photos I would hope to make maybe $1k on these.

I'd put a start price of at least $1000 on these, it's very rare to see a pair of this age in this condition on the 'bay and you see much worse sizes (44x27?).
