maybe i just have knobbier knees then most...but seriously i don't see blownout knees on other peoples jeans like i see on mine. i'm wondering if it has something to do with starching the back of the knees and then putting them on wet because it seems like the jeans i don't starch basically the ones that are unwashed don't have this problem.

It probably is from starching the knees and then putting them on and bending your knees putting strain on the fabric. If you just spray some water on the knee area and let them sit the jeans should shrink back to normal.

Never wear jeans that are wet!!! This is why your knees are blowing out. If you wear your jeans wet of course they're going to stretch and not retract! Obvious surely? And why wear them wet in any case? All clothes worn wet will get stretched out of shape and then when they do finally dry they'll dry in that bent out of shape shape! A surefire way to ruin your clothes.

I wouldn't wear your clothes damp at all - cotton/denim is made of thread don't forget and the thread is all interconnected so it makes sense that what you are doing may distort your clothes.

As a matter of interest - why do you starch the back of the knee and then make them damp? What does this achieve?

I am certain that this starch/damp process is making your jeans particularly susceptible to distortion - all jeans stretch at the knee and at other places but if its' particularly bad then it might be because what you are doing is also particular...if you know what I mean.
