Who would make the best villain for the next BATMAN

i think the holiday killer with minor villains alongside would be really dope. they'd have to change around the original story a bit but it'd be pretty cool if we got to see who it actually is near the end.

Anyway, I still think they should run with the batman outlaw thing and Nolan should interpret Dark Knight Returns into a movie. minus superman and green arrow and cold war. just pure epic awesome.

but that's exactly why it'd be awesome if they reinterpreted him...they stayed kinda true to his character in that shitty batman movie and it just turned out to be a blumbering big guy who walks slow and breaks walls...

no one should be the next villain. period. dark knight be the final nolan/batman movie. no one will ever trump the mass chaos that joker caused to gotham city. no one will come close. bane? fuck that, the thought of a super strong thug is tired and hackneyed. no one will be able to turn the city updside down like joker did, especially since all other villains have some sort of motive whereas joker's only motive is having no motive. this offers the possibility of anything happening, as opposed to someone who wants to see batman dead or wants to rule gotham or have tons of money or some shit.

i duno, i just don't think any possible batman movie will ever come remotely close to the dark knight.

This seems like a good idea to me. The Knightfall storyline has a ton of possibility. And rather than focus on the mass destruction of Gotham, it could really be about Batman under siege, his identity compromised, his physical skill matched, it could really highlight a part of the character that hasn't been elaborated on in the films: his egomania. A villain who is his intellectual and physical equal, arguably his better, could really put Batman at his lowest, and it also solves the problem of these forgettable love interests that plague the movies. Typically the Batman villains get at Batman through the women in his life, they're his weak point. But when you don't care about these female characters, that angle seem stale. So when Bane completely bypasses all these other people, no hostages, bomb threats etc, instead goes right for the jugular, breaks the hero, I think that has a lot of potential.

Ray Stevenson from Rome would be awesome. Dude was an absolute bruiser in that series.

Bane would be cool if they played him up like in the comics. Have him bust batman's back and Robin shows up to help during recovery :eek:

Javier Bardem could make a good Bane, though with a could deal of physical transformation and with the risk of stereotyping himself into a role. It's often forgot that Bane's character is Latin.

Hmm, i have a couple ideas of batman. It is possible for catwomen to be in the next film because with the huge bounty on batmans head, she can come in as a villain hunting him down for the bounty, and at the same time robbing the city. Also since now Rachel is dead, batman needs a new love interest and thats what catwomen can be. Other then that I would think the next villain in the new batman wold probably be bane.

Edit - I just read on ign that the most likely villain in the movie would be the Riddler. They should have Carry play him because the first time he played the part he was more himself then the Riddler. Maybe with Nolan's help he can be just as dark as the Joker.

I say do another crime drama Batman movie, using the Riddler as a hired mastermind behind the mob. Get rid of his eccentricity and campy jokes, make him egotisical and obsessed with outsmarting Batman, streamline his clothing to a dark olive suit and domino mask (fedora maybe for added gangsta-ness?). Riddler's plans can act as the major foil for detective elements within the story,

Also introduce Catwoman as a thief who is targeting mob families using backstory/motive from Loeb/Sales' Long Halloween and Dark Victory. Finding Catwoman's identity can be a subplot. Catwoman/Selina can be the new love interest for Batman, her identity found out midway through the movie to provide emotional conflict. Classic character design with the open-eye mask will be fine (from Year One/Long Halloween etc.)

Ultimately have Catwoman and Batman come to short-lived understanding to take down the mob/Riddler, although each has their own priorities. Obsession can the the major theme of the movie; obsession for superiority, for money, for vengeance, for a love that cannot be requited.

I would to see like that or the Bane/Knightfall based plot someone else mentioned a while back, that one sounds great too. Bane is a great villain to use, don't know why so many people assume he's all brawn and no brains.
