Finally received my revised evisu's today!!!!

here are some PRE-soak fit pics...

I feel these'll do me right after the hot soak (which I am in the process of now)

the waist might be too tight after the soak, so I plan to wear while damp =]

And so the hot soak begins:

here are the post-soak pictures! I did have the time to wear them damp and was scared they might've shrunk too much at the waist, but the shrinkage wasn't bad at all and fits like a charm!

love the fit of these jeans, exactly what I was looking for!! very pleased, thanks for the help

Hey,

so did BiG provided the painting service for the gulls? looks sickk.. how much did it cost?

no these are from evisu japan...got them proxy'd for $365USD (after 13% [9% proxy cost + 4% paypal fee coverage] and shipping)

BiG doesn't paint the gulls and removes the red tag

I am just wondering, do the shrinkage rules for these #2000 no.1 jeans apply to all no.1 evisu jeans? I bought a no.1 limited edition evisu and own a no.2 heritage. My true waist size is 32, bought my no.2 lot.0331 with my true waist size. However, it is baggy all over ever after the soak. Thats why i decided to buy this no.1 with my true waist size expecting to have a fit like Chicken in DD+1. Im still waiting for my no.1 to come btw.

EDIT: measurements in http://blueingreensoho.com/site/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=4576&category_id=&manufacturer_id=46&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=28

But after i read this thread... i guess i was wrong? I was fully aware that we should size up 2-3 sizes. But my experience with this no.2 made me go for true waist size for my no.1.

Because No.1 is unsanforized and No.2 is...They both measure tagged size. But since 1 measures tagged size before shrinkage, it will shrink to smaller than tagged size...

Yes exactly. Since they are both my true waist size, the sanforized one still real baggy for me. And i was thinking if i got no.1 with the same size, it may fit me perfectly.

However, do u think this thinking is wrong? because i think it is. Note tham i am 179cm tall and my weight is 66kg. Pretty skinny heh

i'm a true waist 30/31... my lot 2001 no.1 specials are size 33 because they will shrink to a size 31... if you a bought a size 32 and you are a true waist 32... you would have extra fun stretching it back to tagged size after the soak... depending how uncomfortable you want to feel wearing yo jawns...

warning off track:

This is something that confuses me a bit in general - but not related to your size choice for these Evisu's. Why would you want jeans to shrink down to your size and fit perfectly initially if you intend on wearing them hard, and for an extended period between washes? I would rather them fit tight initially and naturally stretch to fit me over time, then wash and repeat.

Also, by no means am I advocating buying something to small for you to get a tight fit and skew what the designer's initial intention for the cut was. I also understand that there is only a certain amount a jean will stretch.

But, stretching is inevitable - my point being, if a size 31 fits me exactly how I want after getting all of the shrinkage out of the way, I would want a size 30 that I could wear for longer and continue to be pleased with the fit.

Sorry to get off track here...looking forward to getting my own pair of no. 1's, and I've been reading this thread for sizing info.

getting mixed answers here. i think the fact that no.1's are handmade or traditionally woven, each pair varies in its shrinkage because the fabric in each pair are unique to its own, which makes it all that more special. i mean the general idea is that it will shrink 2-3 inches from tag size but there are many other stories out there that says otherwise. i guess best thing to do use extreme hot water to get more shrinkage and lukewarm water to get less? thats my take on it.

True, the waist size does vary a lot. I think at most to expect a 2~3 inch shrinkage. I usually wear a 36/37 and I bought a 40. Turns out they were a little too big after I threw then in a boiling soak (and I do mean boiling) and a high heat dry in the machine. It shrunk about an 1.5" inches. I have a size 38 waiting to be soaked for a few months, which I suspect will be a better fit.

Mine just arrived from Japan, and I sized down two to a 34" to give me an incentive to hit the gym. The actual size is just over 32" though, which means that I'm going to have to aim to be getting into a 30" waist for these to fit...

A good incentive, for sure, but once I've got into these babies, nothing else will fit me...

I didn't dry them in the dryer. I wore them damp cause I need to stretch the waist a little bit. I am sure if you dried them in the dryer they will shrink a bit more. You should post some pics soon!

I finally got a pair of evisu's...... & I wanted to tough it out and not size up two. & stayed true to size.... I did a quick hot soak with me in them to control the waist....
