Pineapple Express

My fear of spending money on a dissapointing movie has lead me to the realization that the only featureI might watch in theaters this summer is Pineapple Express...

Here's the Rated "R" trailer:

vdxHGFrY2X4

Why I'm putting all my bets on this movie:

-Freaks and Geeks mini-reunion

-For some reason, although I laughed my ass off during the trailer... I also feel confident the trailer showed less than 10% of the "gags"

-Rosie Perez I-miss-you-so-much-you-old-hot-kick-ass-sexy-90's-bitch comeback

-A cheechxchong style comedic action movie

edit: oh and yeah... maybe this could be on the films you're looking forward to see thread... in my zeal, I totally forgot about that ... soooooorrreeeee :D

Reviews say all the good bits were shown in the trailer and that the movie was surprisingly formulatic considering the pedigree.

saw it last night and these reviews would be correct.

I have to see the movie again because I was too baked the first time. I honestly only remember the last 5 minutes.

This reminds me of the time I saw King Kong baked as fuck. I only remember the gorilla and girl all over eachother the entire movie. I really don't remember what the plot or what was going on ha.

I'll bite the bullet since no one seems to have weighed in with a mini-review.

Overall it was an uneven movie, but it had its fair share of highlights. James Franco in particular was hilarious. He was very likable and funny. I felt the film suffered from an identity crisis at some points - it wasn't sure whether or not it was serious, and there were some abrupt changes in tone that didn't feel right. I can't say that you should rush out to go see it, but if you do, I think there is a fair chance that you will enjoy it. I will say I was disappointed by Seth Rogen. He gave a forced, one note performance that paled in comparison to his work in other comedies (Superbad and Knocked Up in particular). Overall, while there was a lot to like, the movie suffered due to inconsistent and unpredictable swings in feel and tone.

i really liked the movie. james franco has really good comedic timing as does "red". i will agree that seth rogen was not as funny as usual, but maybe that was on purpose...?

i would watch again, tho. for sure.
