I've never sold on ebay, but it sounds like something good, and I got some expensive sneakers to dump.

Ebay charges you an "insertion fee" or listing fee based on a variety of factors including starting price, reserve, buy it now, etc. ^ means you can list anything for 50 cents max.

if you'd regularly sell something that starts at $50 and has a BuyItNow price of say $150, you'd pay $2.25 in insertion fees. then again if you list something for which the starting price is $0.99, the fee is only $0.15 anyways, so theres no effect on cheap starting prices.

i just tried to set up an auction, nothing fancy, just set a start price at $40 and was still charged a dollar. do they just reimburse after you submit your auction or what?

50 cent is for fixed price listings only, regular bidding auctions do not apply.
