received my pair of california's from Julian Red

i wear a 29 in APC rescues, and they're getting a bit baggy in the waist and cut after 4+ months of continous wear, so i looked into getting something slimmer. i contacted the people at julian red and they hooked me up with a pair of california's. i ordered the 28x32.

just got them today and GOD DAMN ARE THEY TIGHT! I couldn't even button them up at first, i did 2 buttons on the button fly, then let them stretch out a bit then did the other 2. now they're stretching out and i hope they continue to do so for a while. In terms of quality these jeans are very very nice and a welcome change from APC (even though i love my rescues). As long as these loosen up a bit in the thigh then these will be my new favorite pair of jeans. i'll post some pics when i get a chance.

The waist fits but you couldn't button it? It will stretch, anyway. Personally I don't find Julian Reds to be that tight. My Californias are a regular-slim fit, not very tight at all around the crotch or the thighs. I've worn much tighter jeans in my life. And to add, while the thighs and crotch area were fairly loose, the waist was pretty tight (now it's loose).

i couldnt button it when i first tried it on but then i wore it around half buttoned and then tried again and it buttoned fine, and now they fit.

my rescues are much much looser than when i bought them, and almost too baggy for my taste. i'm hoping the red's will do the same and be a better fit.
