It's gonna take some work, especially if you've never done it before. For men's garments, I personally love "Metric patterncutting for menswear" by Auldrich. It's european, and might be a little hard to find you can get it on the internet.

I'd also recommend getting "The readers digest guide to sewing". It's basically the only sewing book you'll ever need.

If you're looking to do a small line/start your own company, I'd also suggest you getting "The fashion designers survival guide". it discusses starting up, production, shipment...etc. and interviews pretty much everyone important (zac posen, proenza, doori..etc)
