Nick I've always liked fried eggs sunnyside up with the yolk extra runny so those fried eggs never really did anything for me. wish I could go back to malaysia or singapore for a couple of days just for food haha. actually the food situation in the docklands is fucking killing me, so mediocre. the asian noodle place in particular is so westernised, char siu in char kway teow and fucking bits of roast potato in the nasi goreng wtf?? guess I'll stick with the sushi and char siu banh mi as they're passable...

perhaps I'll change my mind on sissy leathers if I actually have a chance to try on a 42. the collar on the overlock doesn't do anything for me though, popped or folded down and seeing as they won't be ordering the fencing again I guess I'll just have to see what the next collection brings.

@Damien!

CCP do have 2 different toebox on the derbies.

The ones you tried, I assume is AM2520. They have wider toebox

The slimmer one, which Darkland has are AM2449, they are slimmer and narrower.

Personally, I prefer wider toebox hahaha. .:P I got big feet for my height.

I like the coat in suit fabric (Worph) more, it's more interseasonal. The wool heavy coat is in the same fabric as my wool dropcrotch pants, it's always nice to know to have the matching pants and coat, but really, that coat is abit too heavy for Australian climate... They look good tho however.

As for casual pants, CCP Object dye slim pants, really nice to slack in style with. But I really like breadstick pants.. more slim.. make me feel taller. The chainseams item are holding well for me tho.. I got them last .. november.. or before.. i think? Wear them now and then still and they are holding well.

@Nick

If you realize the SZ classified at the moment, dominantly they are all selling large sizes CCPs.. 48s.. 50s.. 52s...

Smaller stuff are hard to come by.. it's mainly the Japanese.

Fuck, heading to Nasi Lemak house later. I definitely like boiled egg later. . but nvm the egg. I want the rice.. Thanks guys!

Scar stitch is a classic leather jacket reiteration, almost too classic though for what seems like something your dad could wear back in the day. still, the fit and feel are the absolute tits.

Rob, it's good to be buying CCP secondhand when you're a 48~52 :D especially with people like AKA*NYC, awlouie and Tiger coming up with the goods. Which is why I think EM is smart by offering an alternative to the Japanese stores.

btw any idea if this leather will be produced and what item code it is if it will be made?

he did tell me to check out the new website, minimal to say the least haha.

Stephen have no desire and interest at the moment to recreate another EM as a store on the internet. He said something to me that EM has a physical body and that's the store in Carlton. The website, however is an extension of what's missing - it's her soul.

I have next level respect for Stephen. Ahaha.

yeah it was the size 6 cordovan derbies. felt they made my feet look a bit short, particularly coupled with the upturned toe. are they the same design on darklands and does the sizing on the AM2449 run the same? I'd feel bad about buying them online after the discussion with Stephen however I really do prefer the slimmer toe. :o

N that leather isn't included in the current FW collection, perhaps the midwinter collection? I've decided against mandarin and moto collars for leather jackets for myself, high collars just suit me so much better so hoping for an improved rider next season...

hearing you about the overlock too, too old man-ish for me haha.

I sort of hear you with regards to mandarin and moto collars. I have a lollypop head and neck looking at pictures of myself so those collars make it look more obvious.

I'm still kind of jonesing for the knit denim pants, looks insanely slim in the legs and don't think I'd be able to squeeze into it but will wait for Tyler to reply on sz. I already have a pair of twist denim that has lost it's wax coating for the most part so it just looks like the FW10 one.

Yeah re: scar stitch, awesome leather and fit but I think it suits older gentlemen better i.e. hobo beard brad pitt or seenmy if he was slightly bigger.

Nick I still don't like the front paneling detail on those knit pants, the fit does look insanely slim though. the way pants with a strong curved leg flare out between the thigh and knee kinda bothers me, hence why I sold the MA twists. the subtle curve in their narrow trousers is so perfect though, I already tailored my MA pair to be worn as a proper suit so want a cotton kersey pair to keep long and wear casual.

shorter collars definitely emphasise how long and skinny my neck is. :o

sorry Rob I don't follow, how is the internal lining different to the pair at EM? they still have the removable inner sole from what I can tell in the pics, is the construction of the shoe somehow different? any idea if the sizing is different? for example the grey boots in 7 fit me well. honestly what would you guys do in this situation, go for the pair at EM or the slimmer ones? not that I'm definitely copping a pair...

The description unlined on ccp derbies means it doesnt have a sole. like, look at the bottom of those shoes in the pics, not rubber or wood, it's all leather.

fitting are fairly consistent with derbies and boots. if you are size 7 in boots, then it will be size 7 in derbies. since you have not tried the slimmer one in person, I suggest no kop, there's a probability that you may not like them..

actually full leather soles are a very common thing man, not that many leather soled shoes come with a protective sole or taps preinstalled. only clogs come with wooden soles lulz.

the size 6 in the derbies was really quite snug for me, I guess a size 7 in the narrow pair would be appropriate. good suggestion not to cop without trying though, tbh I don't really like how the narrow toes on the boots looked on me anyway...

heh, that wouldn't hurt either. thing is I eat like a horse anyway, before I went to EM yesterday I had chicken curry don at don don, a pack of apam balik from nelayan to myself, and half a bag of taro rolls from breadtop haha. :o

actually I tried the fencing before Venus bought it, definitely too boxy for me. not sure what length would be best for the fe-male coat, perhaps to knee height? I don't recall, was the lighter weight coat you're interested in the same high collar design? I tried on one with in built gloves, was it that one?

over lunch? wow. pretty heavy!

I see. then maybe a 42 thats for sure!

myself being at 175 cm, I feel the coats are too long too, I just wish they were slightly shorter, But Lucy & Stephen just say " The longer, the better!"

Trying to push me out of my comfort zone as always, just like when I tried the dropcrotch pants.

But the leather coat's length, is just perfect.

haha, I was particularly hungry yesterday. you should see me at a buffet. :o

yeah the guys at EM were telling me that the longer the coat the more it elongated the body. it's definitely true to an extent, although for someone my height I feel anything longer than knee length does make the person look shorter.

that and I still don't like the flap pockets on ccp coats, jackets and pants much, just ruins the clean lines in my eyes. brings me back to coats, anyone got any suggestions for a clean high collar coat? attachment is the top of my list atm, would remove the belt loops from the back though.

haven't seen the derbs on you D. but I hardly see anyone wear it fail, those derbs will work with any slim pants anyway.

But I have seen Chin on the derb getas.. and seriously.. its awesome on him, on the contrary other people might think it's a wtf, or too feminine.. it isnt, they look subtle costumey BUT in a good way, very edgy look.

Get it, Chin.

hmmm.......i think unlined means that the upper leather is constructed in one piece of leather instead of two layers stick together to hide the reverse side of leather, or to thicken the upper leather.

that's what I thought would be the case Chin.

Dave I really like waxed finish on the boots, really nice darkening effect as the wax layer wears away:

carpes have a wider fit through the foot don't they? I want something with a slim fit through the ankles and opening as well, one thing with _7 boots (besides perhaps the skinny boots) is that they are always cut wide at the top with tucking in mind.

Wow, this thread is killing at the moment. I woke up and actually had more than 2 pages to read! Just like old times.

Rob; I think the 'balanced' remark about your buying is a good one. If the difference between items was a few hundred I wouldn't mind at all, but $1200 is practically a pair of derbies over...

As for the CCP pants, I definitely thought the breadsticks were win. I tried the full suit in 'PLURAL' from '08 and loved the fabric, but I definitely prefer the slimmer leg on the breadsticks. I also tried the spiral jeans, which I really liked, but the way the butt sits is really strange (but may soften in time), just check out mixmix for pics.

And D, the slimmer shape of the darkland derbies are definitely nicer in my opinion when compared to say the more wider green/black pair at EM. I do feel it makes them more 'traditional' but you can really see a refinement through the collections in terms of shape, and the latest looks incredible.

As for leathers, i think you need both the fencing and the scar stitch. They complement each other nicely. I tried the scar stitch on with a shirt and quite liked the look, so can be dressed up and down well. I would also like to see the fencing after a lot of wear, it is like armour when new. The 46 leathers fitted me well, whereas I needed a 48 in suit jackets.

Looks like I missed out on Nasi Lemak too...

Can anyone remember how much the dipped single laces are at EM? PM me!
