shin ramyun is the bomb, could live off that shit if I had to. it's $10 for a box of 20 at the korean place near the corner of swanston and latrobe.

melon calpis is 39c a can at laguna, weird flavour compared to the other sodas though... also pepero is shit compared to pocky. :\

cooking shin ramyun the dry style is beyond awesome.

flavor explosion.

I've said this before and I'll say again. What's an Asian club? It's not like me and my mates are attending Arian club events.

ditto, sounds like a waste of the satchel to me haha. I use vitz or some other cheap stuff when cooking dry style.

show me the way...I never eat instant noodles but I'm considering trying it with all this talk about it...

lulz, what do aussie students eat then when money gets tight then? seriously, if you like spicy food at all you'd be surprised how flavourful shin ramyun is for something instant. I just cook it as noodle soup with some bokchoy or other greens, egg, and maybe some wontons if I'm feeling balla haha, so fucking good when you cbf cooking a proper meal.

agree about the asian clubs, although I haven't been to one since way back when P1 had azn nights...

haha peasant status usually just equals vegetarian pasta, like with lentils or chick peas and penne.. Takes like 10 mins to throw together or even just rice + tomato + Tuna + olive oil and ground salt and pepper.. I don't eat that anymore though.. I'm strange, probably the only person in my entire old college who didn't eat instant noodles. Mi Goreng was generally the weapon of choice though.

Friend's little brother used to work (still works?) at one of the Don Dons and used to bring home free stuff. Its OK if you're really hurting for sushi but I can think of better ways to spend the money haha.

this is true.. I don't eat sushi there. I only eat lunch sets.. Yum!

co sign sushi ten. their mixed don is fucking awesome, and if you're lucky there's a $4 salmon head soup/stew that they make that is the fucking best.

i used to buy japanese porn rags for the owner though, but don't mention that in the store, he's all business when there are customers haha.

my fav jap place in melbourne is toki, which is along grattan st opposite eastern market. their stuff has a really home cooked feel and the sushi is better than even like kenzan (the higher end one) personally. they have a new half-jap waitress there that is absolutely jizz in my pants hot.

edit: for those who don't know, sushi ten's mixed don has salmon and tuna sashimi, marinated cooked salmon bits, avocado, TONS of ebiko (prawn eggs) and a special sauce on top of rice. FUCK i need some now.
