That HF lineup is bananas, nicely done.

I was lucky enough to get invited to some crazy ass tastings these past few months.

1999 3F Oude Geuze

Those are the only pics I have from that tasting, but there were other delights like 1996 Cantillon Gueuze, 2012 BA Dark Lord lineup, NB Bottleworks X, 1991 De Neve Gueuze, DDG, Jean Chris Nomad, 3L EC18 Eclipse and 3L Rye Old Conundrum, 2007/2011/2012 Blabaer, and a ton of stuff I'm forgetting.

Then some individuals and a lineup from a going away wale harpooning:

Wooden Hell. If it's actually dropping off it must have been ridic before. One of the best, no doubt.

Cantillon kills it with their fruit lambic. Wish this wasn't so impossible to track down. More of a ripe juicy grape character than, say, Veritas 007/Malvasia Rosso/St. Lam.

2003 CdT. Delicious. Low carbonation, not everyone was into it, but I think it's worlds beyond what that beer has turned into.

Delicious side by side. Adam can really go the distance. Less sweet, heavy on tobacco and leather with so much age. And AftW is nicely complimented by the barrel character, though significantly sweeter by comparison.

Slowly but surely trying every vintage! This is 2000. Less funky and intense than 2001 or 1999. Still good but very mellow.

Another delicious HF beer. Awesome mouthfeel.

A wale because of the last batch and the small release, but it's just a really good framboise. It's super jammy, just bursting with raspberries. Given the price of admission, I'd say fresh LP Framboise is on par and a way better deal.

Not a bad thing to stick to. Opened this last weekend:

Was a little light on the body but other than that it was damn tasty. Very lemony and juicy.. didn't think it was all that funky at first but it came out quite a bit when it warmed up.

Band practice brought me to Chicago and we played in Detroit. During the drive we stopped at Greenbush, Dark Horse and Three Floyds which were fucking amazing breweries. Missed Bells but definitely had some Oberon at Handlebar.

At Bar Deville in Chicago I had a 2 Brothers beer with roasted coconut - too fucking good!

In Detroit I had an Atwater draft which uses the original Stroh's recipe.

After living in SoCal for the past two years, it's safe to say I've been missing out on some great beer!

Did you just get some from the brewpub? Or did they start distributing?

Nah, still no distribution. Went down to the Fortuna Roja release. Probably going to try to make it to the La Muerta release, too. It was a good time and a really, really badass bottle share. Lots of stuff I wasn't expecting to see.

@youkinorn Dieu du Ciel! is a fun place and the beer is great. Was Peche Mortel on tap when you were there?

It was, but I didn't drink it even though I knew I should have haha. Really liked the mild they had on tap and ended up just getting two glasses of that. Friend had an imperial pilsner that was interesting, too.

I went to San Diego this summer and had some IPAs(?) with my uncle. It's from some microbrewery and it tasted godly after all those finnish lagers I've been drinking back home. I really liked the taste, the best beer I've ever drank!

Here in Finland we have very few beers and most of them are popular huge brands like Carlsberg, Fosters etc. and finnish lagers like Lapin Kulta, Karhu etc. so I don't really even drink beer in here.

I also came up to this "Dancing Monkey" in a pub in Hua Hin, Thailand. It had very very weird taste but it was magically good even the little weird bit was disturbing me during all these 5... 15, Dancing Monkeys.. Never heard about it before that, probably some local beer.

And that reminded me of Singha of Thailand, oh god I love it. Is it popular in other countries?

anyone have experience with clown shoes beer?

Their imperial stouts are pretty good, nothing world class but worth trying. I think I enjoyed Vampire Slayer the most. The belgian IPA (tramp stamp) was decent as well. I wasn't a fan of any of their other IPAs. The pecan porter was gross... shit tasted like synthetic pecans.
