i just bought a ttm57 so the ttm56 is up in supermarket.

you can hook your mixer up to your computer speakers - just need the right cables. or to your home stereo system if you have one.

I have them and they're quite amazing, you can tell the differnece between that and regular speakers (non studio monitors).

Villains are alot of fun, I played a show w/ them at SXSW last week. They don't fall into that typical LA electro trap of playing monotonous lyric-less bangers over and over. Can't wait to hear their new shit, believe they just started recording again.

I bought one about five years ago for like 90 bucks, just for the warmth of its sample processor and filiters, but ended up trading it for an iPod cuz the thing was so big and slow.

Used an ASR10 for awhile too, maybe just because Alchemist did/does. haha.

what do you use the firepod for? I had one to mic drums but it sounded like shit. The preamps on the thing are atrocious.

Question for the experienced DJ's out there. I've decided I want to start spinning and learn how to DJ. Should I invest the cash and buy myself a set of decks and the rest of the gear I'll need or should I make friends with someone who already has it, get them to teach me and see if I like it first. It seems to me it's a big investment for something I don't know much about. How did you guys get started?
