i think its a letter from serenas dady about how lily was spending time with him over the summer. prob doesnt say they cheated, but that they spent time together. thats why serenas mom was covering for her to rufus but gave the wrong date of departure.

its just implied that she cheated, but i dont think she did and its just being assumed to add drama
