wireless internet at the crib - what the fucking fuck?

i've literally searched for over an hour, and found maybe two actual potential providers

google seems to think i need links to a bunch of sites that having nothing to do with wireless access

all i want is a port for my apt. so i can get wireless access at a decent speed, for whatever that costs per month

it's two thousand and fucking seven - why is this so hard?

i live in chicago - shouldn't there be like a dozen competing providers or something?

what the fuck am i doing wrong?

i don't know what a port is, but i'd suggest you:

• contact sbc, comcast, verizon, qwest, rcn, att or whoever offers cable or ADSL broadband service in the chicagoland area and contract with them.
  
• buy a wireless router.
  
• be finished.

I'm assuming you want Cable vs. DSL.

First, start with these two:

Go to the high-speed internet sections of their sites and see if they service your area. If they do, call to sign up and ask them what their current promotions/special rates are. I've used both providers and never paid over $20-29 a month.

Get them to enable connectivity, install a modem, and buy a router.........
