Making a wallet

For the most part a lot of us are in love with wallets, especially the ones coming out of japan. However with price tags exceeding $300 for a standard wallet i think we have become suckers for brands. I really dont mean to insult anyone because I too am in love with these brands. However after seeing some people make their own wallets that in many cases look just as good for less than $70 I have become incredibly envious and therefore I implore one of you leather craftsmen to give us the materials that you use or need and step by step guidlines to making our own wallets.

I doubt anyone's going to do this for you. But, what I would suggest is:

-Finding the type of leather wallets are made of, thickness, ect

-Find some leather working equipment - waxed thread, awl, ect

-Learn to stitch on leather - Google

-Make your own patter and stitch a wallet
