Neck to Waist ratio

Whenever I don't have the opportunity to try something on, by wrapping the buttoned pair of pants' waist around my neck tells me if it will fit or not. If the waist goes around and touches ends it is good. My neck is 16" circumference and my true waist 34". Just wondering if anyone else does this and how it applies to other peoples body dimensions. Give it a try!

I've done that in the past...not a perfect science, but gives you a good idea. A friend of mine uses another trick of holding the waist of the pants up between your inner elbow and your wrist...or thumb...I forget.

It depends if you're of average proportions. I know friends who wrestle and play rugby with thicker than average necks. But it does work. I've used it on occasion as a quick and dirty way to check fit when the post Christmas sales are on.

jesus i use this all the time and it fucking works 90% of the time the fucking 10% was the thigh fit jesus but it still works on waist anyways

nothing like staring and turning around in front of the mirror though, but for cheap sales the neck-waist technique works fine

It works for most people, but not all. I've also seen the fore-arm thing, which reminds me I should measure that at home to see if it works.

It's not really useful for department stores, I'd rather go try it on.

But it helps in thrift stores a lot, so much junk to wade through and no time to try on.

I don't know why you maniacs would go through this when all you have to do is pull the pants together by the inside of the waistband and press them against your hipbones, from end to end. If the fingers touch the pointy part of your hipbone on both places...BAM! you've got pants.

My neck is actually the same size as my true waist (43) so I usually just pull the pants over my head and try them on that way
