for socks i wouldn't spend too much money for them, i saw some nice ones from h&m and uniqlo, both are cheap and fitted me great. uniqlo had a mad selection

^but the length and thickness of knit is the issue. h&m's not gonna rise up to your knee. do uniqlo's rise high? i recall the prada ones from s/s 07 but they were too short. this is such a problem!

i get almost all my socks from century 21 in nyc, they usually have a pretty good selection of high wool or cashmere socks that don't cost $60 a pair or whatever prada charges. i think you can usually find a pair to mid calf but i've never really looked to be honest

The flashes on Kilt socks are not actually attached to the sock itself, so you don't have to worry about that.

And loads of places will happily ship abroad - a huge percentage of Scottish highland dress is sold to non Scots. Just google Kilt Socks and take your pick.
