I'm sitting on the fence. As ddohnggo said, AB has it for cheaper w/o the metal attachment but it was described to me as a dark grey with a greenish tint (depending on lighting). I wonder if it's the same as the Atelier one? Atelier described their boot as a dark grey close to black but w/o any green. Not too sure I'm diggin' grey / green.

And though it's contrary to popular vote, I still really like the M.A+ boots. It took my breath away when I first saw it. The CCPs I really like as well but the initial reaction was not nearly as strong.

Hmmmm... take a chance with my very base understanding of design and fashion (not to mention a still fragile sense of self style) and possibly regret it (with the M.A+) or go the safer route with the CCP?

the ccp's at AB could are super dark. the green is a very subtle accent color as i've actually tried them on at AB (too big for me). the thing with ccp boots is the fact that they are dyed and they change color depending on the light, which is very cool.

btw, how much is the m.a+ boot?

im not quite satisfied w/ AB. phoned them months ago when they had some cdiems for 30% off. the SA was reluctant to do phone orders for sale items. he said he would send me some pix of the cdiems but never did. i was kinda pissed.

Karlo at Atelier is awesome. So patient and helpful. I've been dealing with him on these boots for the last few days and he was the one who sent me to pics, measurements, and took a lot of time to chat with me on the phone to answer my million and one dumb questions. Now there's a proprietor that's still in touch with his customers.

I pulled the trigger on the CCPs at Atelier based upon their service level alone. I could have saved some money from AB but the few calls I've made to them haven't left me with the same warm and fuzzy as Atelier. I guess if I was in the East Coast it'd be easier for me (and I'd probably have bought from AB) but being in Hawaii, I need a vendor who's willing to spend the time and effort to service me properly.

Interesting side note, Karlo told me that the horse bit (metal hanging thing) didn't come with any CCP boots until this (S/S '07) season (at least not to the best of his knowledge) but it seems like goldengloves and fuuma have them from past seasons. Where did you guys get your boots from?

Nah, mine are from SS07 so I have the metal attachment. It is true that prior seasons didn't have them.

Good choice on the CCPs man, you'll be really happy. And I totally agree with Atelier, I have frequently ordered from them despite the price because they are such nice guys and run an outstanding business. As always, PICS!

They aren't the ones in the pic you posted above? But I'm not really into a Doc'ish look as I already have a nice LE pair of Docs (I know they're not comparable to your CCPs). Thanks again though... you have some of the coolest stuff!

i use dr. scholls because i don't really care that much. i heard that taccos are really nice. btw, put protective rubber on the leather soles!

I use tacco insoles. BTW mine do not have the metal attachement, that didn't exist at the time anyway.

Congratulations on your purchase, those boots are incredible and getting them from someone you highly trust will only help you in case they don't fit you well and you need to exchange them.

not the rarest, but impossible to find and won't be reissued like the diag zips every season- as for rare he made horse hair boots, transparent lamb boots, etc - probably only 1 made or something, but no one would really wear them anyway
