not sure if this is the appropriate forum or if one even exists, BUT nyc superfuture people, i am in search of a strategic marketing/branding job in new york (obviously). i'm moving to nyc with my girlfriend in the next month and would like to sever ties with my current job. i've sent my resume and cover letter to many marketing/branding companies small and large and have not heard back from any.

any leads would be much helpful. please pm me if you know of any good jobs in this area/field. i have resume and can turnaround a cover letter in no time.

my background:

- senior consultant @ boutique consulting firm

- 3 years experience of project experience, leading many efforts

- run a record label

- graduated from a great university with a degree in computer science

- not really a goth ninja, and very pleasant to be around

thank you!

Have you tried using a head-hunter? Also check out vault.com for leads and advice. PM me if you need more help. Good to see a fellow computer science guy!

From experience trying to land a job in NYC (with no luck) & a friend who lives there, the conclusion is that it's better to have a local address when sending resumes to places. Unless you're really good & they are recruiting you, they don't want to mess around with scheduling an interview & having to worry about your schedule to fly in and meet them and all that. They just want to call you up & have you come in that day or the next. I missed an opportunity because I couldn't just "up and leave" when I actually got a call back. Once you get there you'll have better luck. Also, try temp agencies, seriously. A lot of places use them so they can test out an employee before investing in actually hiring someone full time with benefits.

This is very on the money.

I have been looking at resumes all day, and when a motherfucker from North Carolina wants an office manager job, It usually gets chucked to the side for a few reasons.

On another note. People who want careers in office management disgust me.

Speak N' Spell Fuckface!
