engineered garments jeans

Recommended Posts

anyone have first hand experience with engineered garments jeans?

the slim fit jean looks promising:

12 oz. selvage denim (cone mills)

30% AI 70% synthetic indigo blend

button fly

banded waistband and bound seams

$165 through peasant (more pics)

there is also the basic jean featuring a talon zip

the slim fit is probably my next purchase------maybe this week; i've never knowingly had jeans made from cone mills denim and a 12 oz. jean sounds perfect for summer; just wanted to get some feedback

thank you, sirs! (in advance, even)

I don't know....

I saw them in person, and I just didn't like the way they looked/felt.

Kind of reminded me of this old pair of Uniqlo's I have that I've used as work jeans for landscaping (which come to think of it, serves EG's image association perfectly. Hmmmmm...)

I really want that Black and White Checked shirt with the red button-holes though. I think I will aquire it when Odin has their sale soon.

wolves-was it the low-weight of the denim that you didn't like?

the uniqlo comparison doesn't help me as i've never handled those jeans either

i have to say the notion of american denim appeals to me quite a lot-----maybe b/c my rotation is entirely japanese

I think the kind of "marbleized" look of the denim weave just isn't doing it for me at the moment. But then again, I'm on a black dior/Zara waxed/Skull kick lately, which is more about real even weaves, solid coloring, and spot on fit.

It also looks like the light weave might be a lil to "Drapey" for me.

diddy why don't you take a peek at rag & bone--their lined waistband gets me everytime. like pulling on a pair of favourite sweatpants or PJs.

They have them at the SF Bloomingdales, I was looking at them the other day. The construction and finishing seem as good as we are used to with EG. They do feel light, and as if they will be good for hot summer days. I am not crazy about the crinkly finish but it probably will relax after a couple of days' wear.

I am going back over there today, diddy, anything you want me to look at in particular?

Peasant shipped this to me yesterday. The wash is very unique. Definitely light enough for summer. I actually can't get over some of the detailing. EG are incredibly thorough. The bottom half of the back pockets are lined in brown cotton as well as the waist band. It's nice to find a pair of upper-mid-rise jeans after fitting into mid rise nudies for the last couple of years. Sizing up gives you a more comfortable relaxed fit and you don't have to worry about them being so tight that they'll stretch. I put 'em on with NewBalance 998s and a t-shirt.

Right, Sorry about the lack of pics. Camera's at work. But there's not much the Rakuten page leaves out. I just can't stop feeling these jeans. Even the front pockets have a distinguished feel.
