Best place to get a hair cut in NY or Boston

There is a Japanese dude named Hito at MudHoney on Prince St (in Nolita). He's roughly $75 for new customers I think. He's very skilled and has a wide ranging client base (women, men, rockers & clean-cut alike). He cuts my hair and I would recommend him to anyone who wants any style.

I used to go to hot gossip on newbury, boston. i'm graduating this year, and i been thru 4 years of that. both my stylists have gotten pregnant and left so i can't recommend you anything.

but last time i went, this guy Jun cut my hair and he was good at listening to what i wanted. tho his layering skills wasn't top notch, it was certainly satisfactory for 60.

how much does one tip a hairdresser in the USA anyway?
