Rage Against the Machine

Seeing as Coachella marks the runiting of one of my favorite bands, I figured I'd give them their own thread.

God I fucking love these guys. Been listening to them since I was in 6th grade and I've NEVER gotten sick of them.

Such a unique sound, espcially the vocals.

Even though I probably don't agree with more than a handful of their political ideals, I love their fucking music.

There's probably nothing better to work out to than them.

PLUS they actually made Afrika Bambaataa's "Renegades of Funk" BETTER when they covered.

Appreciate these guys here.

I've never heard a crowd echo louder than they do in that video.

and, quite possibly their best video and my favorite song by them

i liked them when i was an angry teenager.

now that i am an angry old man i find the fact that i let the band that would be Audioslave led by a shrill mexican with dreadlocks influence my views on US foreign policy to be a little embarassing.

Remember Tom Morello used to wear that "Commie" hat? *cringe*

i liked them a lot when i was a teen, but i've got to side with SOS here and say that in retrospect, while i still respect them musically, they just reek of that shitty smell that covers angry, angsty, semi-politically inclined frat boys from southern california.

zach de la rocha is the man, however, simply for being mexican.

the first album is the only decent one IMO (which also somewhat shows my age..). it all went downhill after that and in the end, they looked more like a joke than anything else.

i'm still hopelessly waiting for zach solo album though, i've seriously had so much faith in the record after seeing the list of producers. but then the album never came up and he release the dj shadow's produced track that really wasn't good and nothing since... the joint he made with krs and last emperor is so dope, i really wish he would do something of that quality with his solo stuff, if ever it comes out...

I've got that album if you want it.

edit: it's also fucking sick, so I suggest that you want it.

this is of all my life the concert i regret the most missing (well, i was on holiday with my dad so there was nothing i could have done, but still, it was pretty sick i heard).

I've got that album if you want it.

i had no idea it was released or was on the web somewhere. well, if it's not too much trouble, i would appreciate it a lot (oink don't even have it...)

Just on a random side note (don't know why I'm bumping this thread, frankly), I think that the "communist star" is actually the Zapatista flag, I know Zach took some trips down there.

I don't really listen to Rage much anymore. They were fun back when I was in seventh grade, I just got sick of them more than anything else.
