the problem with buying stuff from chain stores like jcrew and banana republic is

that the shit you purchase will have 0 (or close to it) resale value. like a 70 dollar vest i wore once from banana = i sold on ebay for a buck plus a 5-dollar s&h.

true true...barneys marks steven alans down to $49-69 at the beginning of the fall season...thats when i stocked up...i would never pay retail price ($140)

ill be up in new york soon, do they usually stay retail price at the steven alan store?

the sales people realized that noone is this area would pay 140 for a washed button down (as told by one of the SAs).

@ steven alan stores, shirts rarely, if ever, go on sale.

buying regular priced jcrew and banana items can be more expensive

than buying a margiela shirt if the timing is right

i consider clothes, to some extent, as investments

All of my clothes are an investment. I don't buy disposable clothing. Except maybe some hm socks that turned to crap the second they touched water in the washing machine.
