Los Angeles Sugar Cane wishlist

A friend of mine has just been granted a Sugar Cane account in L.A. Now we have to decide what to stock.

What would you want to see stocked in a SoCal Sugar Cane outlet?? Keeping in mind that they would be availible in store, and bought over the phone.

We're looking to vary the price points availible. Some of the classic repro's, but a few of the cooler stuff also. Be specific! I'm going to look at line sheets on thursday

Also: Anybody interested in jackets? If there isn't a large minimum order, I think I might want to get some of the type 1 jackets.....

I think SC 1947 & SC 1945b might appeal to a wide range of people since they're relatively affordable. Hawaii's and Okinawa's would also be good to stock since they have the sugarcane/cotton blend that makes SC so unique (not to mention all of the other nice details those jeans have). SC 1955 and SC 1966 are pretty nice too but their mark up is kind of ridiculous so I'm not sure if they would sell very well. For the higher end, one of the SC flagship natural indigo models (maybe the SC 40400N) would be nice.

EDIT: Just read that you're not getting Buzz Rickson. So I'm suggesting what I've written above.

The thing about the SC pricepont is that I think we are a bit skewed here in what we are willing to pay as most of us have literally spent hours figuring how to get them cheaper, and the regular customer does not know or care.

This said, I think alot of the success of other brands at BiG and SE are that they are priced similarily to Japan.

Depends who the shop is pushing to...a guy in a pair of Sevens looking for the newest trend or consumers like us, who are obvioulsy different and most of the time very value oriented.

Hews- To a large degree I agree with your above statement, but thats not at all what I meant...

Varying pricepoints to me meant that we are looking to stock a few styles in the "standard denim", and a few in the 50-50 denim/natural indigo ranges. The 45's and 47's being comparable to historypres. prices, , and the oki's, hawaiis etc being between 300 and 400 depending on model. That way we can have offerings at a number of damage-meters. I also really like entertaining the idea of stocking belts and/flannels

Touche! also possible that I'm a little stoned and misread your first post. I know that prices are tough on Sugar Cane because of the History Preservation element. For me, I think a big part of the excitment is just to have another store where I can go see the product; touch it; and most importantly, try it on. Buying jeans having only seen pictures sucks.
