anyone on SuFu listened to this guy?

he's basically the king of mash-ups, putting different songs from different genres together to make some sick tracks.

anyway his shit is already illegal so I decided to up the album for you guys if you wanna take a listen, it's pretty damn good.

Girl Talk - 2006 - Night Ripper

yeah me 2. i prefer the soulwax hang/kill the dj shit.

Yeah I love the diversity of that shit.. and the fact if your having a house party and everyone is into different tunes if you put that on everyone is happy.

That Girl Talk mix gets better towards the end though - not bad really but not my thing.

Not a huge fan of Girl Talk's albums, but then again Mash-Ups in general are pretty tame (read boring) in my opinion. I've heard his live show is incredible as well, definitely going to check it out at Coachella, even though he'll probably be playing at like 11:00 in the morning.

It's hard to get into what essentially boils down to dance music that early in the blazing sun, unfortunately.

I'm not sure how I feel about the album.. its definately very creative in terms of mixing very different sounds and samples, if the individual tracks would be more constant I would fucking love it. but the way it is, that every 3 min song has several different vibes and sounds to it, I just find a bit too messy. but nevertheless I still like it and it has some amazing sounds.

can't buy into the whole Girl Talk hype... I agree that the whole crowd that is naturally attracted to them is a big part of what turns me off. the music is also waaaay to schizo (as mentioned above). mash-ups are no longer novel, but I am still entertained by a well-done one. Diplo/Hollertronix have been holding my interest as of late...
