- first unknown in the setlist i'm pretty sure is DJ Funk's Bang Bang Bang Skeet Skeet Skeet

- the robot rock remix is by DJ B-Stee

- Insane edit of Walkman is also sometimes tagged the Re-edit

- track before the second gap is SebastiAn's remix of UFO. there's a SebastiAn vs. Blaze Tee Re-rub of the track floating around that's basically it

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to find. Stuff that's easy to dance to and is pretty much immediately catchy to the average listener. Our usual dances are, as you mentioned, nothing but generic hip-hop, so I'm trying to accumulate some mixes / unusual versions of mainstream hip-hop songs (i.e. stronger remixes / girl talk, that sort of thing) or some more danceable electro-hip-hop.

High-school students are a fickle bunch. I figured a mix of that and some straight-up bangers will go over fairly well, along with some more recognizeable daft punk tracks.

On a side note, I'm missing Simian Mobile Disco today since I only realized this morning they're playing at Street Scene (local music festival). Damn.

i gave this some thought the other day. with the internet and blogs shit is just too accessible. what i mean is that everyone emulates everyone else. there is a universal formula now. if you think about old independent music of the past before the invention of the blog and shit, every region had their own diverse sound. now, it's just a bunch of blog masters and "most viewed" record reviews that dictate everything. sure i use blogs all the time, but if you've got a state of mind, connections, and the know-how, you have other outlets of discovering new music that is not dictated to you.

it's like when you were in highschool and wearing dual pocket cargo pants was the shit. you had to search low and high to find that. years ago it became the standard. skinny denim too.
