I need to mention I was talking more specifically in terms of producing. But ya the dj'ing is pretty simple once you've gone through the labor of setting up the right markers and then after that its more about having a good controller. You can definitely do some pretty amazing stuff on ableton that isn't really possible on tables but the basics are pretty easy. The tutorial built in pretty much explains it all too

fucking immense. I've worked with a bunch of different video editing programs with the standard timeline view and I can't figure out ableton to save my life. Looking forward to getting Logic though

ableton is one of the easiest programs to use out there

well ya it has a timeline view but for some reason its just not intuitive for me at all. I can't even figure out how to chop up a sample. I mean you can do it all with ableton, no doubt, its just not really a natural layout for me.
