are the positioning of the stacks always like this? is the sizing of the legs so narrow that they are not affected by the laws of gravity? i would tend to think that most would position/stack them at the bottom if they were, or was their positioning (as shown here) a premeditated choice?

The cut of the legs (wiggly) and the narrowness of the leg cause the stacking to stay pretty much the same, even when you walk a lot during the day as I do.

I don't know if it is possible to force the stacking to stay below the knee but I doubt it, because the pattern wiggles where you see the stacking start. I basically spread the material as evenly as I can through the wiggly area when putting them on.

They are most comfortable worn like this. tg may have more to say about her intentions, we will have to wait and see.

You should really use a tripod, or at least stick your camera somewhere and step back from it to get a decent shot - those kinds of mirror shots tend to distort the fits and don't really do justice.

really? no selftimer. Both my old Nikon and my Yashica have timers, just little winders you pull. I've taken two waywts (one being the face down in the grass one) with my Nikon.
