I may be getting it for 275. So its a steal.

EDIT: YUP taking it for $275.

those always pop up for what seems like a deal. they change hands more than any other bike, i bet.

people buy them on an impulse, ride them a couple times for fun, come to terms with the fact that theyre useless, then try to sell them as they collect dust in the garage.

or, maybe it will work with your proportions? lol

didn't some kleins have problems? i was going to buy this frütswägz paintjob one last year and everyone was saying that that particluar frame had falling apart problems.

man, terrible, your purchase and username make me think of samir in office space going "this is terrible, terrible idea"

can anyone help me find an alternative for a black soma threaded fork, length 150-170? these seem to be extinct except for on the soma website where they are overpriced compared to other sites i've been on. anything else out there that i dont know about? i am partial to a threaded fork so keep that in mind, and i aint rich so im looking to drop 120

I took a look at it and you were right. I look like a damn fool. I passed on it.

just brought my wheel stuff in to get built...shit's expensive in the city. i remember my local shop where i grew up charged $20/wheel, this place charges $70/set, and that's after shopping around. one shop guy wanted $55/wheel, i thought he was kidding and started laughing until he told me he was serious.

i did go with double butted spokes, radial in the front and just 3x in the back.

coming from the bike shop, the higher the ratio the harder to brake. So if you have higher teeths in your cog, it would decrease the ratio(correct me if i'm wrong)

48 x 15... maybe i just suck at braking ... lol,

i might have to take out my right brake and put my front brake on my left side... i automatically reach for the right side wheni need to brake... not a good thing since it eats away tire pretty fast

So while cleaning my basement today I saw a Gitane 10 speed bike in the storage room. It was my fathers from the 60's. All I know for sure is it needs new wheels/tires and possible a new gear system (dont know the right name).

I was trying to figure out what size, brand, etc. etc. to get for the parts, I was thinking about taking it to the bike shop but I have always been interested in building road bikes/fixed gear bikes.

I have built a bike but it was a ape crate esque bike. I used Schwinn parts and things of the sort but I had help from a local guy who built bikes like that,

So back to the main question, how do I figure out what size of parts to get or whatever I need to know to change the gears and wheels. Also, would it be possible to convert it to fixed gear?

Keirin Culture has the Kazane track forks for $99. You'll have to chop it yourself though.

Anyone have experience with this one for road use? http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/espresso.html

Choosing between the above or Dolan FXE but other suggestions are welcome!

/K

Dont buy planet X, I have no idea what their track frames are like but there MTBs are absoulte bollocks! Waaay overpriced.

Edit: didnt realise the frame is actually an On-one, which are actually pretty decent. So ignore my comment about Planet X.
