I am of the school of thought that by far the best bike lock is 2 different bike locks- normally 1 around the back wheel+frame and maybe the seat with the second around the frame and front wheel attached to a lampost or whatever

I am having a hard time picturing this. Can you show me a picture or draw a diagram? Thank you.

best bags i've owned or still have:

baileyworks (about 7 years old)

freight baggage

seagull

worst bags i've owned/used:

timbuk2 (way uncomfortable)

chrome (shit falls apart and it has that stupid seatbelt buckle)

never had a reload or pac, but i hear tons of praise for both.

saw some of the SAG bags when that dude was in town at DQM. really good quality, but the fit wasn't all that great.

^^ any bag will hold a u-lock. just go get a bike and start riding it so you can answer all your questions.

pacs are retardedly nice, probably the best strap system out of all of them. hangs well full or empty, you don't get that big loop coming out of your liver (reload, utw, etc etc ad nauseum), and has compression straps. and it's canadian!

i will say i like my timbuktu because the ballistic nylon doesn't rip the shit out of my tshirts like cordura can. but that's the only redeeming factor.

i have a chrome and am pretty happy with it. the seatbelt does get a bit retarded-- people love pushing it to test if it's real. yes... it is real-- and now my messenger bag has dropped to the floor with my laptop in it. fucker. if you keep the stabilization strap on-- the bag won't fall completely to the floor, but it is still a nuisance.

if i didn't have the chrome-- i'd probably snag a seagull black bag. i don't really want custom art or to pay an arm and a leg. $95, HUGE size, really sturdy looking construction, U-lock holster on the strap if you want it, and a strap system that doesn't fall apart on you (i do like baileys, but a plastic buckle? i'd be paranoid of crushign it. likewise, the chrome seat buckle is handy at times and a pain at others.)

i also know of a guy who makes custom u-lock holsters that fit on your belt. they fit mini-locks really well and are pretty good construction.

oh, and +1 on pacs. they are ridiculously well made and have u-lock holsters on the side of the bag (seriously great idea).

if you want a fanny pack-- i have one for sale that has a u-lock holster. it can fit mini's or standards (might be more bulky with the standard).

Does anyone make (messenger) bags that has a built-in specific feature to carry or hold a U-Lock?

There's a pocket on the side of the Bailey Works bag that fits a mini-U perfectly. Or put it in your back pocket.

The hed comes with sealed balled bearings so you don't need a hub.

Crank length is 165mm. 170mm would be too long on me.

Paint was stock, I just added the decals.

Sorry, dumb question re:the front hub. I knew the answer.

Any special tips about the application technique you used? Are they vinyl laser cut? Did you do any clear coat or protective film on top? I am very impressed!
