Is it possible to dye moleskin fabric?

I have this moleskin Supreme M-65 in brown, and I was wondering if it could be dyed black.

Is that possible?

I like brown, but black is more versatile color.

standard textile dyes are usually meant for cotton, they say that they dont work as well on other materials so I'm not sure how it would end up looking :confused:

Er, moleskin is made of cotton. Not sure what the best method for dyeing is though:confused:

You could, but most likely it would not be to your expectations. You might have to dip it several times and it still might look blotchy.....

Yeah the jacket is 100% cotton, but I didn't know if the texture of it would cause some problems.

I definitely wouldn't do it myself. I was just checking to see if it was possible to do, and if it is possible, my next question is where could I get it done?

It doesn't seem like something a tailor would do... Or am I mistaken?

Some cities actually have "dyers" or "custom dyers" that will do the work....normally people who run small dyed clothing businesses (scarfs, sweaters, etc.), etc. and who will do it out of their home. Try to look it up on Google search for your city.

Hold on to it. It is indeed a very nice jacket. I was going to let it go since I never use it, but it looks so good and compliments my jeans so well.
