There's a diffirence between asiaphiles and asian fetish, check google. Given, that is a simple diffirence, but it's important to what paradigm shift is getting at.

Asian guys liking asians (or asian guys gettin' with white gals) don't bother me as much as white guys liking asian girls... Not that there's anything wrong with that per-se (I know a few asian girls that're with a white guy and their relationship is aight...), but the theme of white guys dreaming of getting with asian girls just has alot of weight (to me and I'm sure a few others on this board) and history in terms of how it goes hand in hand with asian gender stereotypes and power etc.

I'm not accusing anyone of doing anything wrong per se... the power and allure of this thread just kinda started to bother me a bit. Why has nobody ever brought up a porn star that looks like she was born and bred and represents American/European/Caucasian-Australian (hell, why no African, Latin while you're at it) customs (lately)?

Anyways, just rhetorical questions... no need to answer or argue cuz I'm not trying to one up anyone here. ^_^

Hahaha I read that and the first question that popped into my head was " Would any self-respecting Japanese person be offended if someone were to consider Ozawa as an apt representative of Japanese custom/culture? "

Btw I believe that paradigms (in the social context) arent necessarily "destroyed", but can rather shift, when presented with another point of view (granted a damningly convincing point of view), but thats for another thread, haha.
