Label Under Construction Signals Talking Selvedge Washi J Pant

From the 2010 Signals Collection. Size 48.

Article: 16FMPN26-O_CO107_LS

Colour: 9

Composition: 100% WASHI_100%CO Lining

Description from previous owner:

"These pants were a key piece of the “Signals†Collection in which Luca incorporated morse code in various forms into the garments. In this particular case, the morse code has been put onto the garment through laser burns running the length of the twisting seams down the legs. Hence the name Talking Selvedge.

However, the true stand out quality of this pant is the material. 100% Washi and 100% cotton lining. Washi is a Japanese paper-based material which it is quite stiff and dense, yet at the same time light-weight. It feels definitely stiffer than cotton. The material will mold to the wearer’s physique and creates a perfect stacking effect. Feeling this material is quite amazing. Actually, Luca continued to use washi for selected pieces in his later collections. Since washi is produced and sourced in Japan, all washi pieces go hand in hand with a hefty price tag."

Some background on the Signals Collection can be seen here:

A total of 20 pieces were produced. The colour is a dark grey/grey-ish black. The pictures capture the colour quite accurately, except for the close up of the back pockets which turned out lighter than what they're like in real life.

The pants were originally purchased from Sartorialoft LA and retailed for around 1500USD.

The pants are in very good condition, I'd say 8/10 and will come with all tags and a special Signals Collection booklet. Given the nature of Washi, there are wrinkles around the back of the knees and at the ankles. The material molds to the physique of the wearer so I’m sure the pants will adjust to its new owner just fine.

These are the original J-pant cut which fits more tts. The newer releases are slimmer in the legs which usually requires sizing up and having them quite loose in the waist. With this pair, sizing correctly in the waist is perfect so they fit a 48. They also fit a 46 if you wear them lower on the waist for a looser look.

Measurements:

Waist: 41 cm

Inseam: 87 cm

Length: 114 cm

Hem: 18.5 cm
