How to make a Design for a t-shirt?

Hey guys..

My friends and I want to make some t-shirts for ourselves and some friends but we have no idea if we need hi-res pics, how big, etc? We know how to make the designs itself on photoshop but just the other details when getting it printed on we have no clue about..

Are there any suggestions or w/e?

I had a huge tutorial post listed on screenprinting, and then it got deleted when my wireless just died, so, fuck it.

You need the design to be as big as you want it on the shirt, basically you need it to work at a 1:1 ratio. So, yes, if you want the print to be nice you're going to need fairly high-res images.
