Calling you denim smart Peoples

I have a question that I wasn't able to stumble upon using the search feature. Is there such a thing as Left hand twill selvage denim? I have noticed that most (or all) of the selvage denim that is floating around is right hand twill.

From my understanding, left hand makes the denim slightly softer and one would think it could make an interesting combination of selvage and left hand twill.

So my question is to anyone who can lend a hand:

Is there left hand twill selvage denim. If so, where was it made, by who, and when.

If you only have 1 part of the answer or whatever, please end a hand! It is one of the few questions that hasn't been asked (as far as i can tell) on this board. And maybe i am dumb, so either way, just let me know!

thanks

most japanese brands that do selvage and do lht, will do a lht selvage.

here is a sample of ringring's selvage lefty collection:

For some reason, I've been drifting towards lefties in recent months. eg.

Studio D'artisan's X's2-6 LH, grey weft, 13.5oz Wrangler 11MW style

SD XXX-26, their latest natural indigo LH 14.5oz zipper jeans

Samurai S0110XJ - 150z, LH Lee repro.

sugar cane also has a lht model.

Regarding Left-Hand twill - again much of this is marketing talk. Yes, in theory, LH twill is softer, all things being equal . However, other finishes will have a greater effect on handfeel, including enzyme/stonewashes (removing all the sizing/softening the fibres), fabric softeners (especially silicone softeners) and brushing (brushing the back of the denim will give a softer, warmer, hand feel).

I searched through some threads and found this... i'm a textiles major and had never heard of such a thing so I thought it was interesting hearing about it... anyway thought if i quote it, it would be useful.

Studio D'Artisan SD-003... LH twill & selvage.

As far as the softness goes, I don't really buy it. If you compared like for like, weight-wise, I think the difference would be negligible. If you really want soft jeans, you'd go buy some A&F or some other uber-distressed/washed/sodomized jeans.
